Acting Funny

About

Acting Funny is a podcast exploring 125 years of comedy on film— one year at a time— to see what we can learn about the evolution of comedy, film, and ourselves. Each week we’ll have a conversation with guests from the worlds of comedy and film as we discuss a selected film from our featured year.

Shane Rhyne is a writer, stand-up comedian, and voice actor with interests in history and pop culture, particularly film and music. Acting Funny combines these interests with his past professional experience in the fields of comedy, public history, and broadcasting, to provide Shane with an opportunity to teach himself (and the listener) about the intertwined histories of film and comedy performance, and to learn what makes us laugh says about who we were/are.

Visit ShaneRhyne.com to learn more about Shane’s comedy. His debut album, The Golden Age of Shane Rhyne, is available on Bandcamp.

“I got a special treat for you this evening, a young man that you all know as Joe the Policeman from the ‘What’s Going Down?’ episode of That’s My Momma. I want you to put your hands together and welcome him to the stage.”
